- ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene)

- A chemical component added to give the polymer extra properties.
- Amorphous Structure
- A region where polymer chains are arranged irregularly, without crystalline order. Read the full article →
- Anti-Block Additive
- An additive that prevents film layers from sticking together (blocking). Read the full article →
- Anti-Dumping Duty
- An additional tax protecting domestic producers against unfairly low-priced imports. Read the full article →
- Antioxidant (Additive)
- An additive that slows the polymer's reaction with oxygen (oxidative degradation). Read the full article →
- ATR Movement Certificate
- A document proving the free-circulation status of goods within the Türkiye-EU Customs Union. Read the full article →
- Batch / Lot Number
- A traceability code identifying material from the same production batch.
- Bioplastic
- The general name for plastic types that are plant-based and/or biodegradable. Read the full article →
- Blow Molding
- A production method in which molten plastic is inflated with air pressure inside a mold.
- Carbon Footprint
- The total amount of greenhouse gas emissions caused by a product or activity. Read the full article →
- Certificate of Conformity/Analysis (CoC/CoA)
- A document certifying that a shipment conforms to the ordered specification.
- Certificate of Origin

- Check / Promissory Note
- Negotiable instrument types commonly used in deferred commercial payments. Read the full article →
- Crystallinity
- The degree to which polymer chains are regularly/tightly packed.
- Deferred Payment
- A payment method where the amount is paid a set period after delivery. Read the full article →
- Domestic Goods Certificate
- A certificate giving products manufactured in Türkiye a price advantage in public tenders. Read the full article →
- Engineering Plastic
- A higher-performance plastic category, such as PA/PC/POM, offering superior mechanical/thermal properties. Read the full article →
- EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility)
- An environmental policy principle that holds producers responsible for a product's end-of-life recycling/disposal cost. Read the full article →
- EUR.1 Movement Certificate
- A document showing that goods were produced in accordance with preferential rules of origin. Read the full article →
- Extrusion
- A production method in which molten plastic is continuously pushed through a die to shape it.
- Factoring
- Converting a deferred receivable into early cash by transferring it to an institution at a discount. Read the full article →
- FCL / LCL
- A container being filled with cargo for a single buyer (FCL) or multiple buyers (LCL). Read the full article →
- FIFO (First In, First Out)

- Food-Contact Suitability
- The plastic's suitability for use in packaging that contacts food.
- GEKAP (Recovery Participation Share)

- Haze and Gloss
- Metrics indicating the material's light transmission and surface shine.
- HS Code
- The Customs Tariff Statistical Position number that classifies a product for customs procedures. Read the full article →
- Impact Strength
- The material's resistance to sudden impact.
- Incoterm (EXW, FOB, CIF, etc.)
- Standard terms defining delivery method and cost/risk allocation in international trade.
- Injection (Molding)
- A production method in which molten plastic is injected into a mold under pressure.
- Izod Impact Test
- A standard test method that measures impact strength by striking a notched specimen with a pendulum. Read the full article →
- Masterbatch
- A carrier pellet containing a concentrated color or additive.
- Melting Point
- The temperature range at which a semi-crystalline polymer transitions from solid to fluid. Read the full article →
- Metallocene Catalyst
- A catalyst type used in polyolefin production that gives a narrow molecular weight distribution. Read the full article →
- MFI (Melt Flow Index)
- A measured value indicating the flowability of molten plastic. Read the full article →
- Origin
- The source the raw material is produced from (domestic or imported).
- Pellet (Granule)
- The small, granular physical form of the raw material.
- PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate)

- PLA (Polylactic Acid)

- Polyolefin
- A plastic family produced from ethylene- or propylene-based monomers.
- Price Index

- Proforma Invoice

- PS (Polystyrene)

- PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride)

- Regrind
- Production scrap or waste parts ground down into a reprocessable form.
- Spot Price / Contract Price

- Surveillance Certificate

- The manufacturer's official technical data document.
- Tear Resistance
- The material's resistance to tearing.
- Tensile Strength
